Living With Shoulder Pain? Here's What You Should Know

Did You Know...

That sling you keep handy in the hallway closet alongside your trusty back or knee brace may actually not be the best tool for the job when it comes to shoulder pain. In fact, when it comes to many common shoulder injuries, rest equals rust!

It's true. Avoiding movement can actually exacerbate shoulder pain and may even lead to a condition commonly known as "frozen" shoulder—and it can take months to "thaw" a frozen shoulder so you can use it and move it like normal again.

The shoulder is quite unique, and it's really consistent and controlled motion that can make all the difference in optimizing and speeding up the healing process. Targeted adjustments can go a long way here, and you've got an ally in us!

Why It Matters

Get this. The most common cause of shoulder pain? The tendons. When trapped, that's shoulder impingement. When inflamed, tendinitis or bursitis. When torn, you likely have a rotator cuff tear—but none of these absolutely require surgery.

Next Steps

And get this. Your shoulders and spine are more connected than you may think. In fact, while they may seem completely separate from one another, less than stellar posture can definitely increase your chances of nagging shoulder pains.

That's why making sure that you're able to move your shoulders, neck, and back in all directions without pain or restrictions is so important. That's how you steer clear of shoulder pain, and that's just what our expert team will do for you!

Until next week, make time for your self-care. Be sure to have your next appointment scheduled and to favorite our social channels for more.
