Delayed Whiplash Symptoms

Did You Know...

Whiplash symptoms do not always occur immediately after an accident, and that's true whether we're talking about car, slip and fall, or sports-related accidents.

Consider this. With all that post-impact adrenaline pumping, your brain may not register the pain signals coming from your body. Much of the time, it's only after you've calmed down that pain and other symptoms appear.

And consider this. Muscle aches often appear days after an intense workout session. Those delayed symptoms are very real, and if you're experiencing any new aches or pains following an accident, it's important to get evaluated.

Why It Matters

Even minor symptoms can indicate something more, so don't dismiss them no matter when they appear. The longer you wait to get evaluated and receive care, the more likely it is you may need more aggressive medical care down the road.

Next Steps

We know what you're thinking, and while medications can provide temporary pain relief, they don't actually help your body heal. That's why scheduling a visit with our team is so important - we want you to feel and heal your best!

Our focus is on treating the root cause of those symptoms. Studies have shown that active care involving range of motion, mobility, and strengthening exercises can effectively reduce pain and help the body heal, naturally.

Until next week, make time for your self-care. Be sure to have your next appointment scheduled and to favorite our social channels for more!
